SH 242 closes after 18-wheeler strikes, kills pedestrian

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office deputies are working to clear a scene where a person died after being struck by an 18-wheeler on State Highway 242.

Officials said the roadway on SH 242 and Lone Star Ranch is closed, and they are asking the public to find alternate routes.

Just after 6 a.m., an 18-wheeler was driving west on SH 242 when it struck a pedestrian at Fawnridge, according to the Montgomery County Police Reporter. The scene may be active for several hours, according to MCPR.

No other information is known at this time.
