A crash involving a motorcycle sent that person to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries early Monday morning. It’s unclear at this time if any other vehicle was involved.

The crash happened just east of I-35 on East Stassney Lane near the northbound I-35 access road just before 3 a.m.

Austin-Travis County EMS says the motorcyclist was a man in his 30s. They took him to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center.

The accident took place near construction of the Stassney Lane bridge over I-35. Construction crews were actually supposed to be installing the bridge’s beams at the time of the crash, but TxDOT called off the work early Sunday evening. They will instead do the work Monday night. Main lanes of southbound I-35 will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. and the Stassney Lane intersection will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
