A crash on westbound Interstate 20 in Fort Worth early Monday killed one driver inside a stalled car and left another injured, officials said.
Fort Worth police said the incident took place just after 4 a.m. on southeast Loop 820 at Campus Drive. A woman was in a stalled blue car in a traffic lane with no lights on, police said. As officers drove by on the other side of the freeway, another vehicle hit the stalled car.
The car had become engulfed in flames by the time officers arrived. Medics pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
The other driver was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
The westbound lanes of I-20 were shut down after the crash, but they had reopened by rush hour.
