Three hospitalized after major accident on US Highway 35

CALHOUN COUNTY, Texas - On 10-08-2019, at 7:32 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Highway Patrol was dispatched to the intersection of US Hwy 35 and State Highway 185 in Calhoun County.
A 2020 Dodge Ram driven by Erik Michael Reyes, 34 from Robstown, Texas, and front right passenger Ruben Arriaga Jr., 43 from Corpus Christi was traveling South on US Hwy 35 and was attempting to turn left onto State Highway 185.
A 1999 Ford F-150 driven by Jose Ramiro Hinojosa, 28 from Piñatas, Texas was traveling northeast on State Highway 35.
A 2017 Chevrolet Pickup driven by Joe D. Davis, 54 from Franklin, Texas was stopped at the stop sign at State Highway 185 and US Hwy 35, waiting to turn left. Reyes failed to yield the right of way to Hinojosa, and attempted to turn left onto 185.
Hinojosa struck Reyes in the front bumper with his front bumper causing significant damage to both vehicles. Hinojosa's vehicle then continued after the collision to the East and struck Davis's vehicle which was stopped at the stop sign.
Both occupants of the Dodge were transported to Citizens in Victoria in Stable Condition.
Hinojosa was life flighted to Memorial Hermann in Houston with significant injuries.
The crash is currently still under investigation.
