Texas DPS respond to severe fatal rollover accident at Woodrow Rd. and Hwy 84

Wreck at Woodrow Rd and Hwy 84

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Emergency officials responded to a “severe accident” near the All American Chevy at highway 84 and Woodrow Road just before 6 Tuesday evening, that resulted in a fatality.

A report from DPS states a pickup truck was eastbound on US highway 84.

DPS says one person, David Byron Danks, 66, was killed after the driver of the 2007 Chevy truck lost control of the vehicle and went into the center median. The driver, Cindy Coe Danks, 62, tried to veer right back up on the roadway, then overcorrected left, and went into the median again. The vehicle rolled, ejecting Mr. Danks, who was not wearing a seatbelt.

The vehicle came to rest in the westbound lanes of highway 84.

The driver was taken to Covenant Medical Center by private vehicle for possible injuries.
