HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Spilled wet cement is likely to blame for a crash that killed two people Friday morning in northeast Harris County, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

The accident happened on Old Humble Road near Bender Road shortly after 6 a.m.

Sheriff Gonzalez said right before the accident a Lattimore Materials cement truck malfunctioned spilling wet cement on the road.

That's when a woman drove over the wet cement, lost control and crashed head on to another vehicle on the other side of the median, Sheriff Gonzalez told KHOU 11.

The woman and the driver of the other vehicle died on scene.

There were no other passengers in the vehicles.

The intersection is still closed at this time.
