Port Neches man killed in crash on FM 366 near Hwy 347

NEDERLAND, Texas — A Port Neches man was killed in a traffic accident on Hwy. 366 Sunday evening.
DPS troopers and Nederland Volunteer Fire Department were called to a crash in the 100 block of FM 366 in the area around Port Neches and Nederland area around 7 p.m.
Robert Duke, 52, of Port Neches, was the driver, Texas DPS Sgt. Stephanie Davis said in a news release. Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett pronounced him dead at the scene.
Early investigation shows a 2004 Ford pickup was traveling eastbound on FM 366 when the driver veered left, hitting a construction vehicle, according to DPS.
Texas DPS is still investigating the accident, Davis said.

At approximately 7:00p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a single vehicle crash in the 100 block of FM 366 in Nederland, Texas.
The preliminary DPS crash investigation indicates that a 2004 Ford pickup truck was traveling eastbound on FM 366. For an unknown reason, the driver veered to the left striking an unoccupied construction vehicle.
The driver, a 52-year-old male from Port Neches, was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett at the scene. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. His name will not be released until next of kin has been notified.
All information is preliminary as Troopers continue to investigate this fatal crash.
