ROBERTSON COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) Three people are dead after two separate crashes Sunday on State Highway 6 in Robertson County.
Department of Public Safety Sgt. Jimmy Morgan said the first accident happened at around 3:40 p.m. Sunday on US 79 at Highway 6, north of Hearne.
A pickup truck pulling a trailer was headed west on the eastbound overpass when it struck a car.
The driver of the car, Christopher Evan, 47, of Hearne was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 66-year-old driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with incapacitating injuries and is in stable condition.
A 68-year-old passenger in the truck was treated and released with minor injuries.
The second accident occurred just after 6 p.m. on Highway 6 near FM 2549 in the Sutton community in south Robertson County.
Three vehicles were involved in that accident.
Morgan says an Infiniti sedan and a Ford SUV were southbound on 190 when the SUV struck the car, pushing it into the northbound lanes where the Infinity collided with a third car traveling north.
The driver and passenger in the SUV, Wesley Sanders, 19, and Maegan Sanders, 22, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers say the two victims were brother and sister.
The third car's driver was taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.
