Head-on wreck leaves 3 dead in Sherman County

SHERMAN COUNTY, Texas (KVII) — Two adults and a child are dead after a crash in Sherman County near Texhoma over the weekend.
On Sunday, Dec. 15 around 5:15 a.m., authorities said 19-year-old Daniel Rodriguez of California was driving southwest on US Highway 54.
According to a news release, when Rodriguez tried to pass another vehicle, his car hit an SUV driven by 31-year-old Shishay Gebre of Amarillo.
Rodriguez, Gebre and Gebre's 13-year-old passenger were all pronounced dead at the scene.
Another passenger, 37-year-old Tsegahai Sbhatu of Amarillo, was taken to the hospital with injuries believed to be life-threatening.
Both vehicles caught fire on impact and were destroyed.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
