As Nueces County's stay at home order remains in effect, officials announced one new positive case of coronavirus.

As of Sunday afternoon, there were a total of 22 COVID-19 cases, according to the health department's website. Of those, 20 were travel related, one was contracted through close contact and one remained under investigation.

Four Corpus Christi police officers ordered to self-quarantine because of possible exposure to COVID-19 have returned to duty, according to a city news release.

The patient the officers transported on Saturday tested negative for the virus and the officers were cleared to go back to work.

Meanwhile, other cities and towns in neighboring counties moved forward with stay at home orders too.

The release also urged residents to practice social distancing and referenced Hurricane Harvey, which left a trail of devastation in its wake when it roared ashore in that area.

"This is a bigger fight than Harvey -- and an invisible one at that.  We owe it to ourselves, our loved ones, and friends and neighbors in the community to do whatever it takes to stop the spread of this insidious virus," the release states.
