7-vehicle crash reported on north Fort Worth freeway during dense fog advisory

FORT WORTH

Yes, the fog was as thick as pea soup in some North Texas neighborhoods on Monday morning.

A seven-vehicle crash was reported in the northbound express toll lanes of the North Freeway/Interstate 35W in Fort Worth, according to fire and MedStar officials. One person was seriously injured in the wreck, and 13 others had minor injuries. The crash was reported shortly before 7:30 a.m.

Travelers also were told  to expect delays to flights at Love Field in Dallas and the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport.

dense fog advisory ended at 11 a.m. for most of North Texas. Visibility was down to a quarter mile or less in many areas for several hours Monday morning.

Forecasters said during heavy fog motorists are urged to drive with caution, use low-beam headlights even during daylight hours, slow down and leave plenty of distance between you and the vehicle ahead of you.
