2 dead after wreck near U.S. 60 and FM 2590 in Canyon

CANYON, Texas (KVII) — UPDATE: Canyon police have confirmed two people died in the wreck Friday morning.

They said a pickup was driving north was hit by a semi driving east.

Both people in the pickup were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released.

The driver of the semi received minor injuries.

Canyon police are reporting a cattle truck crash near VFW Road and U.S. Highway 60 this morning.

According to Canyon dispatch, the crash was reported around 10:15 a.m.

Update: The highway has been opened up. Everyone please have a safe weekend.

First responders are on the scene of a major crash at US 60 and FM 2590. Please help us by avoiding the area.

No injuries have yet been confirmed, and Texas DPS is assisting Canyon PD at the scene.

Officials advise drivers that there may be closures and delays in the area as crews work to clear the wreckage and investigate the crash.
