DALLAS, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – A woman was killed when an 18 wheeler overturned on I-35 in Dallas, pinning her inside her red Nissan. The trailer had crushed the top portion of her car.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Sonia Margarito Toledo, 75.

It happened on northbound I-35 over the Trinity River near downtown.

Upon the Deputies arrival, the Dallas Fire Department had the right center lane, left center lane, left lane and left shoulder blocked. Deputies saw an 18 wheeler on its right side on top of a red Nissan Versa. The truck tractor was a 2006 orange freightliner.

Deputies requested two heavy duty tow trucks and a light duty tow truck. The heavy duty tow trucks were able to lift the trailer off the Nissan.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner was notified and arrived on scene.

The driver of the 18 wheeler stated he was in the right lane and was cut off by a vehicle that came into his lane of travel in front of him. The driver said he braked and possibly swerved to the left, lost control and crashed.

Detectives are still investigating the cause of the accident.
