18 injured in Amtrak collision with 18-wheeler

TEXAS (KUSI) – More than a dozen people are injured after an Amtrak train and an 18-wheeler collided in Texas on Friday afternoon.

70 passengers were onboard the train at the time of the crash, 17 of them and the truck driver sustained minor injuries.

A mass casualty bus had to be brought in to help the injured get to the hospital.

Neighbors say they didn’t hear the train horn before the crash.

The train was en route from Los Angeles to New Orleans, reports say the train sustained damage but never lost power.
